Expose the Darkness
Thanks to a grant provided in 2013 by the Reformed Church in America Multiracial Initiatives' office, we developed the "Expose the Darkness" experience and facilitation guide. The goal of Expose the Darkness is to raise awareness about human trafficking and sexual exploitation in local neighborhoods while engaging in prayer for victims, survivors, perpetrators, communities, helpers, and their city. The Expose the Darkness tour brings groups of people onto the streets of their city to learn about the realities of trafficking in our country and to pray for for the variety of people and systems involved. After conducting the first Expose the Darkness tour with a youth group in Hamilton, Ontario, Jennifer Lucking (Coordinator of Human Trafficking Outreach) realized how easy it would be to replicate the experience for groups across Canada and the United States. The Expose the Darkness Facilitator Guide allows people to learn more about the realities of human trafficking and sexual exploitation in our own cities and learn how to plan a tour in their own region. You can click here to download a free copy of this facilitation guide. If you utilize this guide to develop your own Expose the Darkness tour, we would love to hear from you! |
