What We Do
Note: The responsibilties of a Regional Synod, according to the RCA Book of Chuch Order, are found at the bottom of this page
The ministry of the Regional Synod includes the following activities:
1. We prepare and provision local churches for seeking and implementing God's will for their purpose and vision. To provide (see local church in menu above.)
2. To privide pastoral care to pastors,
3. To provide reources for pastors and minister to equip them for ministry and administer their churches..(see pastors in menu above).)
4. Represent the interests of our region in denominational assemblies and ministries groups.
5. Represent the interests of the Reformed Church in America in Canadian ecumenucal bodies. (see ecumenical in the menu above)
6. Provide support and guidance to Classes leadership.
7. Advise and support church multiplication in our classes. (see multiplication in the menu above)
8. Financiallly support churches, classes, pastors and missions through our Mobilizing for Mission Fund (see in menu above)
9. Provide scholarships to Canadian RCA Mater of Divinity students. (see Van Kuiken Fund in menu above)
10. Negotiate and adminster penison pland and benefit p;ans for pastors and staff. (see benefits in menu above)
11. Promote mission opportunities within the RSC, Global Mission and affiliated missions. (see missions in menu above)
12. Communicate with our constituency with our newletter and online platforms.
13. Inform constituency and participate in justice matters (see justice in menu above)

The Regional Synod of Canada , according to the RCA Book of Church Order has the following responsibilities
Article 2. Responsibilities of the Regional Synod
Sec. 1. The regional synod shall exercise a general superintendence over the interests and concerns of the classes within its bounds.
Sec. 2. The regional synod shall exercise an appellate supervisory power over the acts, proceedings, and decisions of its several classes.
Sec. 3. The regional synod shall, after consultation with the classes and consistories involved, form, combine, or disband classes. All consultations required in this section shall occur at a stated session of each consistory
Sec. 4. The regional synod, after consultation with the classes and the consistory involved, may transfer a church from one classis to another classis within its bounds.
Sec. 5. The regional synod shall create whatever organization it desires for the furtherance of the work of the gospel within its bounds, provided such organization does not infringe upon the prerogatives of the several classes or churches.
